Course: A flat 1.0 mile, 8-corner criterium at Alameda Point. See course map below. Excellent pavement.
Directions: From the North, take I-980 South to the 11th/12th St. Exit in Oakland continue on Brush St. Left on 5th. Soft left into Alameda/Webster tube at Broadway intersection.. From the South, take I-880 North to the Broadway Exit in Oakland. After exiting from freeway, follow signs to the Alameda/ Webster tunnel, go through tunnel and turn right on Atlantic Avenue. Continue on Atlantic through Alameda Point Gate. Turn right on Ferry Point, left on W. Tower, immediate right on Pan Am Way, park at lot between W. Ranger and W. Midway. (Registration is located at W. Midway and Saratoga.) Please be considerate of the local residents. We would like their continued support of our race.
Rules: NCNCA rules apply. Free lap rule; bring your own wheels.
Pre-Registration: Please pre-register. It saves you money and it saves time on race day. Register on-line @ Active.com or send an NCNCA entry form/release with a check made out to “BBC” to BBC, P.O. Box 817, Berkeley, CA 94710. Entries must be postmarked by July 13 to avoid $5 late fee. Enter a 2nd race for only $10; except Juniors $5. Current NCNCA Criterium Champions - you can race in your event for $8 provided that you pre-register and you enter the class in which you are champion. Registration: Opens at 7:15 am and ends 15 minutes before each event’s scheduled starting time.
Prizes: Merchandise and cash. Master Men 45+ and 55+ as well as Master Women 35+ will be indicated in the results.
Juniors: Handicap race: ages 10-12 and 13-14 will start first with ages 15-16 chasing. Prizes for overall finish. Junior girls are encouraged to enter Women 4 race.
Kids: 3 categories: ages 4-5, 6-7 and 8-9. These will be fun, short races (less than 3/4 miles) and everyone gets a prize. Parent must sign release. Helmets are mandatory.
Bring the Whole Family KidsÌ races are between the Master
30+ and Women 1/2/3.
Good Food is nearby and the course is great for spectating while lounging
in the mall
